CVSD Email Update: Back-to-School Information

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

First days of school:
  • The first day of school for grades 1-12, on Thursday, September 5, 2024, is a "regular start" day*. Some schools have parent meetings on this day. Look for specific details from your school.

  • Kindergarten and CV Early Learning Center Preschool do not start until Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
  • Kinder Family Conferences align with the first four days of school and include parent/teacher meetings, school orientation, important assessments and more.

*Late start collaboration does not start until Thursday, September 12.

Students have certain rights as citizens and the school system cannot unduly infringe on those rights. This document defines the reasonable limits of those rights, based on the rules and regulations established by the State of Washington. It also contains the responsibilities and rights of teachers and administrators, as well as notification information, which is required to be published and distributed to parents annually. CVSD’s School Policies may be found at www.cvsd.org for review, under Student and Parent Resources.

• Access school policies at www.cvsd.org/schoolpolicies
• Download the 2024-2025 Students Rights and Responsibilities

If your student needs transportation to and from school, you will need to register to ride.
  • If your address has changed, contact your student's school to inform them.
  • Current Walk Zones are still in effect. If your student registers to ride and is discovered to be in the Walk Zone, they will need to submit a "Walk to Bus Stop" request form.
CV Early Learning Center, HEART/McKinney-Vento, and Special Education riders are not required to register.
