Regional Learning Director of the Eastern Learning Community - Lindsay Kent

Lindsay Kent serves as a regional Learning Director in CVSD, a role she considers both an honor and a responsibility. Since 2001, Lindsay has dedicated her professional career to CVSD—beginning as an elementary teacher, advancing to elementary principal and now serving in district-level leadership. A proud graduate of Central Valley High School, who attended CV schools from kindergarten through high school, Lindsay’s deep roots in the community shape her unwavering commitment to the district’s continued success. Her husband and three children also attend or have graduated from CVSD, further deepening her personal investment in the community and its schools.

 

Lindsay’s work is grounded in a deep belief in public education and a lifelong commitment to the success of students, staff and schools across Central Valley. She leads with heart, clarity and purpose—always striving to create a system where every student has the support and opportunity to succeed.

 

In her role, Lindsay partners closely with the executive academic officers and school staff to strengthen learning opportunities and ensure robust support systems for both students and educators. She believes that strong systems anchored in equity, collaboration, and instructional excellence are key to long-term success. Her CVSD leadership spans a wide range of critical areas:

  • Instructional Leadership & Inclusive Practices
    • Supports school leaders and staff in implementing research-based, inclusive instructional strategies that meet diverse learner needs.
  • Data-Informed Improvement & MTSS
    • Collaborates with schools to use student data to strengthen School Improvement Plans and implement tiered supports.
  • Special Education & Section 504 Compliance
    • Oversees compliance with IDEA and Section 504, and provides district-wide leadership for equitable access and support services.
  • Professional Development & Capacity Building
    • Designs and leads training to improve educator effectiveness in supporting students with disabilities and inclusive practices.
  • Strategic Planning & Executive Leadership
    • Serves on the Superintendent’s Cabinet to guide district initiatives and promote continuous improvement across departments.
  • Staffing & Resource Management
    • Develops staffing projections, supports recruitment and evaluation, and manages budgets to align resources with student needs.
  • Community & Interagency Collaboration
    • Partners with families, agencies and community groups to coordinate wraparound services and strengthen student supports.
  • Program Development & Oversight
    • Leads the development and evaluation of specialized programs, including special education and Highly Capable services.
  • Teacher Evaluation & Professional Development
    • Leads systems for educator evaluation and growth-focused professional learning to strengthen instructional quality and student outcomes.
  • Grading Practices
    • Guides schools in implementing fair, accurate and bias-resistant grading practices that reflect student learning and promote success for all learners.
  • English Language Development (ELD) & Highly Capable Programs
    • Provides leadership to ensure multilingual learners and gifted students have access to enriched learning opportunities that recognize and develop their unique strengths.
